Birthday Badges

A set of 10 colourful Birthday badges each showing a numeral from, 1 to 10. The badges include phrases such as "I am 1" and "3 today!". Challenge children to recognise each numeral or wear the badges and arrange themselves in order.

Balloon Colours

Create a colourful display with these 7 A5 cards. Each card shows a balloon of a different colour (red, green, blue, pink, yellow, orange & purple) with a matching border and the name of the colour.

Balloon Number Line

Pink balloons with green numerals and green balloons with pink numerals alternate to make this number line from 0 – 20. Use for ordering numbers, counting on, odds and evens, recognising numerals . . .

Cake Key Words

The 45 Reception high frequency words shown on an attractive birthday cake design. There are 6 word cards on an A4 page.

Cake Number Line

This number line is made up of an A4 card for each numeral from 1 to 10. There are two parts to each card, divided by a purple border The lower half shows each numeral while the top half is illustrated with the corresponding amount of cupcakes. The cards would make a great display as they are or they could be cut into halves to create a matching activity.

Candle Number Match

A similar activity to above, but this time on a smaller basis. There are 3 orange bordered cards on an A4 page, each showing a numeral and the corresponding number of candles from 1 to 9.

Hat Number Line

Two party hats on an A4 page, showing numerals from 1 to 20 in alternate colours (pink and purple).

Birthday Vocabulary Cards

8 A5 cards with a rainbow border, showing words and pictures connected with birthdays – presents, cake, candles, party hat, card, balloons, party games & dancing.

Cake Playdough Cards

Get your children thinking mathematically at the playdough table with these 10 A4 cards. Each one shows a birthday cake without candles and a numeral. Ask the children to look at the numeral and then make this amount of candles for the cake using their dough.

Birthday Display

12 colourful, A4 balloons each showing a month of the year. Simply print, add children’s pictures to the month of their Birthday and finish with some shiny balloon strings. 

Dragon Race Game

Give each child one of the cards showing 8 dragons with numerals 1 – 8 underneath (3 cards on an A4 page). Ask them to roll a dice and cover or mark off the corresponding amount of spaces. Continue until the card is fully covered. The game could also be played as a subtraction game with all spaces covered to begin with and removed as the game is played.

Key Word Bingo

24 game cards divided into 4 sets. Each set consists of 6 boards, showing 3 key words and an illustration of a Chinese dragon. To play, simply call or show each key word, asking children to mark it off on their board if they have it.

Set 1 – I, up, look, we, and, like, on, at, for, said, is, he.

Set 2 – go, you, are, this, going, they, away, play, a, am, cat, to.

Set 3 – come, day, the, dog, big, my, mum, no, dad, all, get, in.

Set 4 – went, was, of, me, she, see, it, yes, can.

Number Bingo

6 A5 cards each showing four numerals from 1 to 10. The cards have a red border and a dragon in their centre.

Chinese New Year Vocabulary Cards

8 A5 cards showing words connected to Chinese New Year – lanterns, dragon, money envelopes, flowers, banners, fireworks, feast and new clothes.

Zodiac Cards

12 Bold cards to show the signs of the Chinese zodiac. There are two cards on an A4 page. Each card shows the name of the year e.g. "Year of the Monkey", and a bright picture of the animal. 

Firework Number Line

Great for using when it is Diwali or Bonfire Night, these A5 cards go from 0 to 20. Each one has a red border and a sparkler with a number in its centre.

Candle Alphabet

Each letter of the alphabet displayed on a candle illustration. 26 A5 cards.

Firework Counting Resource

A fantastic Powerpoint numeracy resource. The first of each pair of slides shows a number of fireworks (from 1 to 10) and the second reveals the corresponding numeral. Children could be asked to count the number of fireworks and then show their answer on a number fan.  

Easter Basket Tens

Get counting in tens with this great resource. Each A5 card shows a basket of eggs labelled 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100. Display them to refer to when counting back and forwards in tens or challenge the children to arrange them in order.

Easter Bunny Twos

These bunnies look good enough to eat! 3 "chocolatey" bunnies on an A4 page, labelled 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20.

Easter Egg Hunt

A fun activity for Easter – 10 chicks sitting on eggs for the children to hunt for. Each egg displays a number from 1 to 10.

Easter Vocabulary Cards

A set of 9 A5 illustrated cards showing words connected to Easter – Jesus, hot cross buns, cross, bunny, Bible, chicks, eggs, flowers and Easter eggs.

Easter Writing Mat

A great resource for children as they are writing about Easter. The nine words shown on the vocabulary cards are arranged on an A4 card to make this prompt sheet.

Easter Letter Match

This literacy activity gives children an opportunity to match letters and words to Easter images. Each card consists of 3 boxes showing an Easter picture, the initial sound of the word and the whole word. Cut the 8 cards up and ask children to match either the sounds, words or both.  

Pancake Alphabet

Flippin’ marvellous! 26 frying pans and pancakes, each showing a letter of the alphabet. There are two pans on an A4 sheet.

Pancake Number Line

Another set of pancakes being flipped in their pans, this time showing numerals from 1 – 1 - 10.

Pancake Playdough Cards

A set of 10 A4 cards, each with an empty frying pans. The cards are labelled with numbers from 1 to 10 – just ask children to make the corresponding number of pancakes.

Pancake Recipe Card

An A4 card instructing how to make pancakes in numbered steps. Also included are 4 A6 cards showing each of the ingredients.

12 A5 cards showing different celebrations. They could be used to make a timeline of festivals. The cards are; Shrove Tuesday, Chinese New Year, Eid, Ramadan, Christmas, Easter, Hanukah, Motherring Sunday, Harvest, Diwali, Remembrance Sunday and Bonfire Night.

Birthday Chart

A colourful A4 card to make a chart of Birthdays in the class. The months are arranged in columns, with space to write the names underneath. 

Also included on the CD is all the software needed to view the resources e.g. Adobe Reader.
