This CD includes resources relating to Literacy, Numeracy and other areas of the curriculum.  

Also included is an editable planning document, suggesting ideas for Nursery Rhyme activities.

Nursery Rhyme Cards

13 brightly coloured, illustrated A4 cards showing 13 popular nursery rhymes.  These include Humpty Dumpty, Mary Mary, Hickory Dickory Dock, Jack and Jill and Mary had a Little Lamb.

5 Currant Buns 

images of 5 currant buns and 5 large pennies, perfect for acting the rhyme out.

Baker's Shop Role Play Pack

30 A5 illustrated cards.  These colourful cards include 10 price cards showing types of bread & cakes, 10 cards showing baking activities (e.g. ice, knead, weigh, roll) and 10 vocabulary cards showing objects used by a baker.

Baker's Shop Writing Opportunities

An A4 customer order sheet and A5 ingredients list to be used in the role play area.

5 Little Ducks Slider Card

A lovely numeracy resource.  Slide the row of 5 little ducks inside a folded sheet of card showing mummy duck.  Can the children count how many ducks are left?  Great for kineasthetic learners.

5 Little Speckled Frogs Slider Card 

As above, but slide the frogs into the pond this time.

5 Little Speckled Frogs Rhyme Card

Underneath the rhyme, there is a colouful pond on this A4 sheet.  5 speckled frogs are supplied on a separate page so that the rhyme can be acted out.

Little Bo Peep's Sheep Number Line 

This resource contains 10 A5 cards, each showing a numbered sheep.  Odd and even numbers have different images and colours.

Mouse Phonic Sound Cards 

There are two mice on an A4 page, each showing a different sound.  Each letter of the alphabet is included, as well as ch, sh, th, ee, oa, ai, qu, oo, ie, or, ue, ar, er, ng, oi & ou. The cards would make a good display and could be used as flashcards when teaching phonics.

Nursery Rhyme Lotto Game

 4 A4 lotto cards, each showing 4 pictures from a popular rhyme - Humpty Dumpty, Mary Mary Quite Contrary, Insey Winsey Spider & Hey Diddle Diddle.  Simply print two copies of each board & cut one up to make the calling cards.  Children take it in turns to choose a card and see if it matches their  board.

Sausage Playdough Cards 

5 A4 playdough cards.  Each card shows a frying pan and a verse from the '5 Fat Sausages' rhyme.  Ask children to identify the numeral on each card and make the corresponding number of sausages.

Spider Number Bingo

Practice numeral recognition with Insey Winsey Spider.  Each of the 6 A5 card shows Insey and 4 numbers between 0 - 9.  Simply call out each number and ask children to mark it off on their board if they have it.

Star Colour Cards

 Inspired by 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star', these 11 A5 cards each show a star in a different colour.  The colour word is written underneath. 

Star Playdough Cards

The perfect addition to your playdough table.  Each of the 5 A4 cards reads 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star . ..' and then shows a numeral and the corresponding number of stars.  Children can use cutters to create the correct number of stars for each card.

Weather Number Line 

A 0 - 10 number line consisting of 11 A5 cards.  Each card shows a weather image e.g. umbrella, sun, rainbow.  Could be displayed in the outdoor area and linked to weather rhymes.

Nursery Rhyme Planning

A fully editable Word document containing planning for 26 nursery rhyme activities in a grid format.  Each activity has a brief outline, learning objectives taken from the Steppping Stones in the Foundation Stage Curriculum Guidance, links to Birth to Three Matters, a short list of resources and key questions / assessment opportunities.  I have used the activities with my Nursery class, but they could be adapted for Reception children.
