This resource includes 63 fish cards, ready for you to print and laminate.

By making a small whole in the end of each fish and attaching a paper clip, they could be used with magnetic rods.  Children could simply see if they can recognise the letter or number.  For more able children, they could select several letter fish and try to make a word.  Number fish could be used to generate numbers for addition or subtraction problems.

Letter fish - blue lettering (32 cards) - b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t, v, w, x, y, z, sh, ch, th, ll, ss, ff, zz, wh, qu, ng.

Letter fish - red lettering (5 cards) - a, e, i, o, u

Number fish - green lettering (26 cards) - 0 - 25.
