This resource is a PowerPoint presentation, designed to be used with the whole class on the fifth day of Set One in Phase Two of the Letters and Sounds programme.

It is split into four colour coded sections - revisit and review, teach, practise and apply.  There are also slides to show the learning objectives being covered at different points in the session.

There are opportunities for the children to;

recap previously learnt sounds,

practise a previously learnt tricky word - 'I',

learn a new tricky word - 'the',

learn how to segment CVC words and record in a phoneme frame,

blend CVC words and decide if they are proper words during the buried treasure game,

make phonic suggestions for a list.
