This resource is a PowerPoint presentation, designed to be used with the whole class on the second day of Set Two in Phase Two of the Letters and Sounds programme.

It is split into four colour coded sections - revisit and review, teach, practise and apply.  There are also slides to show the learning objectives being covered at different points in the session.

There are opportunities for the children to;

 practise identifying initial sounds,

recap all previously taught sounds in a game of mood sounds,

learn a new sound - 'n',

practise segmenting CVC words and choosing the letters to represent each sound,

suggest a caption for a picture for the adult to model writing (a tin can).
