The pack includes a medium term overview, detailed short term activity plans, an example weekly timetable and proformas to observe child initiated play and then plan enhancements for the continuous provision.

The medium term overview details possible learning experiences, learning objectives and resources for each area of the EYFS curriculum.

The short term planning consists of a grid for each area of learning, showing learning objectives, resources learning experiences and 'look, listen and note' guidance.  There are 34 learning experiences planned in total, suitable for a 6 week topic.  The plans focus on 3 stories - "The Gingerbread Man", "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" and "The Three Little Pigs".

There are two sheets to make daily observations of your children during child initiated play, one for the classroom and one for the outdoor area.  The third sheet allows you to plan enhancements to the continuous provision in response to what you have seen over the previous week.

This topic is suitable for Reception, although it could be adapted for younger children.
