This resource is a PowerPoint presentation, designed to be used with the whole class on the eighth day of Phase Five of the Letters and Sounds programme.

It is split into four colour coded sections - recap, teach, practise and apply.  There are also slides to show the learning objectives being covered at different points in the session.

There are opportunities for the children to;

recap previously learnt Phase 5 graphemes,

recap oral blending,

recap spelling the tricky words 'said' and 'so',

learn to spell two new tricky words - 'like' and 'have',

learn a new grapheme- 'ue',

practise reading words containing 'ue'

answer a question including an answer with the 'ue' grapheme.
