This resource is a PowerPoint presentation, designed to be used with the whole class on the fourth day of Phase Five of the Letters and Sounds programme.

It is split into four colour coded sections - recap, teach, practise and apply.  There are also slides to show the learning objectives being covered at different points in the session.

There are opportunities for the children to;

recap writing previously learnt graphemes,

learn to spell a tricky word - 'so',

learn a new grapheme - 'ie',

practise writing sentences inclusing words with 'ie',

answer a question with a word containing 'ie'.
