This resource is a PowerPoint presentation, designed to be used with the whole class on the seventh day of Phase Five of the Letters and Sounds programme.

It is split into four colour coded sections - recap, teach, practise and apply.  There are also slides to show the learning objectives being covered at different points in the session.

There are opportunities for the children to;

practice writinf previously learnt Phase 5 graphemes,

recap Phase 5 tricky words,

learn a new grapheme- 'ir',

play a treasure words game, reading 'ir' words,

read two questions including words that include the 'ir' grapheme.
